Pronounced jue (entering tone) in the Guangyun and Qiyue (entering tone) in the Jiyun, meaning bright eyes. Also, pronounced Wuku (entering tone) in the Guangyun and Jiyun, pronounced "wo" (entering tone), meaning to stare with wide eyes. Furthermore, the Zhengzitong records this as an ancient form of the character jue. The Zihui pronounces it as "jue" and explains it as bright, similar in meaning to jue. It is also pronounced "wu" and explained as staring with wide eyes. It is incorrect to separate these into two characters. Note: Both characters, jue and miao, are included in various rhyme books. Jue is explained as to awaken, while miao is explained as bright eyes. Moreover, jue does not have the meaning of staring, which seems to be subjective conjecture.
