Additionally, in Er Ya: Interpretation of Glosses (Erya Shigu), jin means to advance.
Book of Odes (Shijing), Great Odes (Daya): Ministers advanced and employed by the king.
Sub-commentary (Shu): Jin refers to a deep sense of loyalty and protective care, continuously advanced and never ceasing.
Additionally, in Yangzi: Regional Speech (Fangyan), jin means remainder or surplus. In the regions between Zhou and Zheng, it is called jin.
