Pronounced jin. A name of a river. According to the Analytical Dictionary of Characters (Shuowen), the river rises in the east of Wu'an, Wei Commandery. Also, a large reservoir in a province is called jin. According to the History of the Former Han Dynasty (Qian Hanshu), Geography Treatise, the rivers of Yangzhou are called the Three Rivers, and the reservoirs are called the Five Lakes.
