In the Records of the Grand Historian (Shiji), biography of Tian Dan, it is recorded that the people of Ju sought the crown prince of King Min, Fa Zhang, and found him in the house of the Grand Historian Jiao. In the annotations to the Hereditary House of Tian Qi, it is noted that the characters jiao and jiao are identical in usage.
