Also used in female names. Yu the Great married the daughter of the Tushan clan, whose name was Nujiao.
According to the Stories of Emperor Wu of Han (Hanwu Gushi), if I could obtain A-jiao, I would keep her in a house of gold.
Also a name for wine. According to the Records on Stopping the Plow (Chuo Geng Lu), Duan Jichang loved to drink; those who gave him money would have it all sent to the wine house. The wine was named Huangjiao, as in the Guanzhong region children were referred to as A-jiao, hence the comparison.
