According to the Explanation of Characters (Shuowen Jiezi), it is a type of tree that can be used to make bed frames or small tables.
According to the Approaching Elegance (Erya), in the section on trees, it is identified as a tui-duan.
Commentary: It is a type of pomelo. Its fruit is as large as a bowl, with a skin two to three inches thick; the interior resembles a bitter orange, and it has little flavor when eaten.
