Pronounced ju (ǐ tone) in the "Guangyun" and ju (ǐ tone) in the "Jiyun," same pronunciation as "ji." The "Shuowen Jiezi" records: Nv gui, is the name of a mountain. Some say it is the source of the Ruo River. The "Yu Gong" chapter of the "Book of Documents" (Shangshu) mentions "Ruo River already west." The commentary quotes Liu Zongyuan's saying: In the mountains of Xihai there is water, its flow is weak and dispersed, so much so that even mustard seeds cannot float on it, and things thrown into it sink and become limp, only stopping at the bottom. "Already west" means to guide it to flow west. The "Dili Zhi" chapter of the "Book of Han" (Qian Hanshu) records the Ruo River in Shandan County, Zhangye Commandery. Xue Shi says: The Ruo River originates from Qiongshi Mountain in the territory of Tuyuhun, flows from Shandan to Heli Mountain, and merges with the river in Zhangye County.
