The commentary on "bó dá qiǎn mù" in the "Book of Odes (Shijing), Greater Odes of the Kingdom (Daya)" states that 鞃 is the middle part of a chariot's shaft. 䡏 is likely a corruption of the character 鞃. Sometimes also written in a variant form (zhuàn).
