Pronounced hu (falling tone) according to Guangyun, and hu (falling tone) according to Jiyun, same pronunciation as "kua". Explained as shoes in Shuowen Jiezi. Another explanation refers to a shoe tip decorated with blue silk. Yipian explains it as straw or hemp shoes. Yangzi's Fangyan records that in the Liangzhou and Yizhou regions of the southwest, it was called "lún". Also pronounced hong (low tone) according to Jiyun, same pronunciation as "hu". Same meaning.
