In the Tangyun (Tángyùn) dictionary, pronounced xǔ guī qiè (hui). In the Jiyun (Jíyùn) dictionary, pronounced xuān guī qiè (hui). In the Shuowen Jiezi (Shuōwén Jiězì) dictionary, a ruined city mound is called hui. Xu Kai states that it is commonly written with the character pronounced hui, but this is incorrect. In the Yupian (Yùpiān) dictionary, it means to abolish, to destroy, to damage. In the Yangzi Fangyan (Yángzǐ Fāngyán), the term lài huī means to ruin. In the Shuowen Jiezi (Shuōwén Jiězì) dictionary, it is written in seal script. In the Yupian (Yùpiān) dictionary, it is also written with the character pronounced duo. In the Jiyun (Jíyùn) dictionary, it is also synonymous with another character pronounced hui. Furthermore, in the Jiyun (Jíyùn) dictionary, it is pronounced dù guǒ qiè, with the sound tuǒ. It is equivalent to the character pronounced duo. See the previous entry for the character duo.
