According to the Rites of Zhou (Zhouli), Ministry of Summer, Office of the Regional Director: In the territory of Yangzhou, there are five lakes.
According to the Commentary on the Water Classic (Shuijing Zhu): The five lakes are the Changtang Lake, the Tai Lake, the Shegui Lake, the Shang Lake, and the Ge Lake.
Also a water name. According to the Commentary on the Water Classic (Shuijing Zhu): The Hu water originates from Mount Kuafu in the Taolin pass.
Also a prefecture name. According to the Expanded Record of the World (Guangyu Ji): It belongs to Zhejiang. During the Wu kingdom it was called Wuxing, during the Sui and Tang dynasties it was called Huzhou, and now it is Huzhou Prefecture.
