Pronounced hu gou (falling tone) according to the "Tang Yun" (Tang Yun), and hu gou (falling tone) according to the "Ji Yun" (Ji Yun), pronounced the same as "hou". The "Yu Pian" (Yu Pian) explains it as "yín gōu". The "Yangzi Fangyan" (Yangzi Fangyan) records that the geckos (house lizards) are called "yín gōu" in the region between the Hai and Dai mountains in the east. Also, according to the "Lei Pian" (Lei Pian), it is pronounced xia gou (falling tone), pronounced the same as "hou".
