Pronounced gu ai qie according to Tang Yun (Tang Yun), and ke kai qie according to Ji Yun (Ji Yun), with the same pronunciation as "gai." Shuowen Jiezi explains: 㱾 is a type of great Gang Mao, used to expel spirits and ghosts. The annotation for Jijiupian states: Sheba refers to the great Gang Mao, carved from gold, jade, or peach wood. It is also known as 㱾㱼. Chuo Geng Lu records: Gang Mao, according to Fu Qian's annotation in the "Book of Han: Biography of Wang Mang" (Hanshu - Wang Mang Zhuan), was made on the day of Mao (卯) in the first month and worn on the body. It was three cun long and one cun and four fen wide, made of jade, gold, or peach wood, and worn after completion. It is further annotated: A hole was made in the center, with colored silk at the bottom, and characters carved on top. The characters are: "Zheng Yue Gang Mao, Ji Yang Ling Shu. Si Fang Chi Qing Bai Huang Si Se, Shi Dang Di Ling Zhu Rong, Yi Jiao Kui Long Shu Yi Gang Dan, Mo Wo Gan Dang." (First month Gang Mao, already complete spirit weapon. Four directions, red, green, white, yellow four colors, this is the Emperor's command Zhu Rong, to teach Kui Long to ward off plagues and fierce diseases, none dare to oppose me.) Another annotation states: "Ji Ri Yan Mao, Di Ling Kui Hua, Shun Er Guo Hua, Fu Zi Ling Shu. Ji Zheng Ji Zhi, Ji Gu Ji Fang. Shu Yi Gang Dan, Mo Wo Gan Dang." (Urgent day strict Mao, Emperor commands Kui to transform, following your country's transformation, submit to this spirit weapon. Already proper, already straight, already angular, already square. Plagues and fierce diseases, none dare to oppose me.) A total of sixty-six characters. 㱾㱼 is a type of wearable seal. Because it was made on the day of Mao (卯) in the first month, it is called Gang Mao. It is also called Da Jian, used to ward off evil. Additionally, Ji Yun (Ji Yun) provides a pronunciation of qiu ai qie, with the same pronunciation as "kai." It also provides a pronunciation of xia gai qie, with the same pronunciation as "hai."
