"Tang Yun" uses the characters 符 (fú) and 万 (wàn) for fanqie, pronounced fàn. "Shuowen Jiezi" explains it as a spring. Also, "Jiyun" uses the characters 孚 (fú) and 万 (wàn) for fanqie, pronounced miǎn. The meaning is the same. Note: In "Shuowen Jiezi", this character originally had the radical 䋣. "Zhengzitong" mistakenly wrote it with the radical 緐, which is now corrected.
