Pronounced ta. In Tang Rhyme (Tangyun) and Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), it is defined as the flight of a dragon. According to the Explaining Graphs and Analyzing Characters (Shuowen Jiezi), it denotes a flying dragon. Also, in the Essence of the Six Writings (Liushu Jingyun), it refers to being shaken with fear; when two dragons fly, their majestic spiritual power is so intense that onlookers lose their breath, which is why the character for fear is derived from this, with parts omitted. In the Classic of Primal Containment (Yuanbao Jing), it states, the thunderous power of the flying dragons is crackling. The commentary says: this refers to two dragons in a rage. Additionally, according to Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), it is pronounced sa, and also denotes the flight of a dragon.
