Also, Jiyun: Pronounced dian (falling tone). Explained in the Explaining Graphs and Analyzing Characters (Shuowen Jiezi) as a defect or damage. The Book of Odes (Shijing) contains the usage: A flaw in a white jade tablet. According to the Jade Records (Yupian), this character is sometimes written in a variant form (dian).
