According to the "Jiyun" (集韵) and "Yunhui" (韵会), the pronunciation is "chu jiao qie," sounding like "zhou." The "Yangzi Fangyan" (扬子·方言) states: 㷅 means to dry by baking with fire. Anything that uses fire to dry grains and the like is sometimes called 㷅 in the Qin and Jin regions. The "Zhu" (注) says this is the character "". "Liushu Gu" (六书故) explains: 㷅 is to bake things in a pot.
