"Shuowen Jiezi" explains it as red. Cites the "Book of Odes (Shijing)" passage "fish with red tails". Note: The current version of "Book of Odes (Shijing) - Zhou Nan" writes it as "赬". "Yili - Shi Sang Li" records: "Red tail, the length of a whole width of cloth." The annotation says: "Red tail" means red. "Jiyun" sometimes also writes it as "浾" or "泟".
