Pronounced chou (falling tone) and lian (falling tone) in Tang Yun, and chou (falling tone) and yan (falling tone) in Jiyun. Pronunciation is the same as "zhǎn".
In Shuowen Jiezi, it is explained as the appearance of walking slowly.
Also, in Jiyun, it is pronounced chou (rising tone) and zhan (rising tone). The meaning is the same.
