Pronounced chi (falling tone) — "Tang Yun" and "Ji Yun"
Explained as "to retreat into a house" — "Shuowen Jiezi"
Also the original form of the character "chi" (斥). "Shuowen Jiezi" records that there was a county called Lu in Anding Commandery, which was called "yi" (㡿) in the eastern regions and "lu" (卤) in the western regions.
Also explained in "Yupian" as referring to, sparse, vast, to remove, not to employ, to alienate, to be full, etc.
Also pronounced "chi" (斥) with a falling tone, with the same meaning — "Yupian"
