In the Broad Refinement (Boya), it means to strike or collide. In the Rhapsody of Sir Fantasy (Zixu Fu) by Sima Xiangru: They struck the golden drums and blew the reed pipes. In a poem by Han Yu presented to Zhang Ji: Supporting the table to guide his words, the musical rhythm first struck (chuang chuang). It also means to stir or reach upward. In the Great Mystery (Taijing) by Yangzi: Tall trees reach upward, flying birds may descend as they pass. The commentary states: These are trees that reach upward, where birds do not gather. Also, according to the Tang Dynasty Rhyme Dictionary (Tangyun) and the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), pronounced cong. The meaning is the same.
