Pronounced chi. According to the Expanded Dictionary of Sounds and Meanings (Guangyun) and the Collected Rimes (Jiyun), the pronunciation is the same as the character for fine linen (chi). The Forest of Characters (Zilin) defines it as knowing something in secret. The Categorized Compilation (Leipian) defines it as observing in secret. It is also used as a personal name; Chongchi appears in the History of Song (Songshi), Table of the Imperial Clan.
Also, according to the Jade Dictionary (Yupian) and the Expanded Dictionary of Sounds and Meanings (Guangyun), it is pronounced chi (falling tone). The meaning remains the same. The Expanded Dictionary of Sounds and Meanings (Guangyun) notes it is also written in a variant form (xi). The Categorized Compilation (Leipian) notes it is also the same as the character (xi).
