Book of Rites (Liji), Ziting Yanju: A blind person without a guide, wandering frantically, where is he going?
Also, a chang ghost; when a tiger bites a person and the person dies, the soul dares not go elsewhere and immediately becomes a servant to the tiger, known as a chang.
Notes on Listening to the Rain (Tingyu Jitan): When a person encounters a tiger, their clothing and belt become unfastened and are placed separately on the ground. The tiger sees the person naked, and only then eats them; this is all the work of the chang. The chang can be called the most foolish of ghosts.
