According to the Sound of Rhymes (Jiyun), it is pronounced bǒng. It is the same as the character bǒng.
In the Zuo Tradition (Zuozhuan), the second year of Duke Huan: The algae-patterned sash and the scabbard decorations. The commentary states: The bing is the decoration at the upper end of the sword scabbard. The běng is the decoration at the lower end. The Explanation of the Text (Shiwen) says: Pronounced bǒng.
Textual Research: In the Zuo Tradition (Zuozhuan), the second year of Duke Huan, it reads algae-patterned sash and bǐng-běng. The commentary states: The bǐng is the decoration at the upper end of the sword scabbard, and běng is the decoration at the lower end. We have corrected the characters bǐng-bǐng in the original text to read bǐng-běng.
