In the "Jiyun" (集韵), the pronunciation is noted using the fanqie method of "bó gè qiē" (伯各切), and it is read as bó. The "Boyǎ" (博雅) explains it as the meaning of drying in the sun. In the "Leipian" (类篇), it is sometimes also written as this character.
