In the Sea Rhapsody (Haifu) by Mu Hua, there is the line: Or hanging on the peaks of the high mountains. Further, the Dictionary of Pronunciation (Yunhui) notes the pronunciation is ao (falling tone). It describes the appearance of swaying and rocking. It is annotated separately from the character ao (falling tone).
