Pronounced wu gang (falling tone) in Guangyun and yu gang (falling tone) in Jiyun, pronounced the same as "ang" (rising tone). Explained in Shuowen Jiezi as a type of shoe similar to a "di" (鞮). Explained in Yupian as a shoe made of silk. Yangzi's Fangyan records that the northeast Korean and Lieshui regions called it a "dan jiao" (䩕角). Also pronounced yu liang (rising tone) in Jiyun, pronounced the same as "yang" (rising tone). Meaning: shoe.
