In the History of the Later Han (Houhan Shu), Biography of Shentu Pan: Being content with being obscured. The commentary states: Obscured here means hidden or blocked.
Also, in the Spring and Autumn Annals of Master Yan (Yanzi Chunqiu): The brightness of the stars is not as good as the soft glow of the moon.
In Qu Yuan's Encountering Sorrow (Lisao): The time grows dim as it nears its end. The commentary states: Dim means the appearance of twilight or darkness.
