Pronounced hūn. Marriage, the meaning of giving in marriage. — "Erya (Shi Qin)" states that the wife's relatives are called hūn xióngdì (marriage brothers), and the husband's relatives are called yīn xióngdì (affinity brothers). — "Book of Changes (Yizhuan)" states: "seeking marriage." Also refers to the kinship relationship formed by marriage as lián hūn (connected marriage). — "Former Han Dynasty (Wang Shang Zhuan)" states: "General Wang Feng and Yang Rong formed a marriage kinship." Also, demanding money during marriage is called mài hūn (selling marriage). — "Shitong" states: "Scholars in the Shandong region value family status, and when marrying, they must demand a lot of money.
